You’ve Come A Long Way

Every day, we owe ourselves time to simply be. Let go of the stress of striving. Let go of the need for achievement. And simply be who we already are and who we’ve already become. Because we’ve come a very long way, and it took a lot to get here. So take a moment to sit.

We’ve experienced victories worth celebrating, disappointments worth grieving, and mistakes that asked us to learn, forgive ourselves, and keep going. All of these things shaped the person we are today. Even if we’re not where we hoped to be, and the people around us may not even acknowledge who we can be, the person who we are now in this moment is absolutely worthy of recognition, attention and even celebration.

Let’s toast who we are, the work we’ve completed, the sacrifices we’ve made, and the mistakes we endured that required grace. Because you see, there is no perfect life, but softening the mind and entering the stillness of being is the closest thing I’ve found to perfection.

So, for a little while, let the world be quiet. You don't have to fill every silence, answer every notification, or respond to every demand. You don’t use this time for critiquing, contemplating, or worrying.

Just breathe and allow yourself to imagine the warmth of the sun on your face, the bubbling creek in the distance, and simply be.
